Planting Design and
Initial consultation
The first stage of the process is about spending time with you in your existing garden, learning about you and your space and discussing your requirements and any ideas you have. From there we'll work with you to draw up a detailed brief and provide you with a fee proposal.
2
Site survey and analysis
At this point, so that we can create accurate plans, we'll return to survey the site - measuring the existing garden and recording details such as existing level changes, trees and buildings. Depending on the scale of your garden we maybe able to carry this out ourselves but we're also able to provide recommendations for local specialists. We'll also gather all of the additional information required for our detailed site analysis, including photography, all with the aim of ensuring accuracy, creativity and that our designs are fit for purpose.
3
Outline design
Now, we’ll talk through with you our outline design, which will be a 2D scaled drawing, showing you how the garden will look. We can also create and walk you through 3D plans, which may help you to better visualise the design. As part of this stage we'll deliver scaled plans, elevations, perspectives and mood boards for planting and materials. We love for this to be an open discussion and encourage you to talk through any changes you’d like us to make.
4
The build
Once you're happy and have signed off the outline design, its now time for us to create detailed drawings. We’ll draw up any changes from the outline design into the masterplan and provide technical construction drawings, bill of quantities and specifications, which will enable a contractor to provide an accurate estimate. We can also help you to select the most suitable contractor to build your garden.
5
Site monitoring
We are available to monitor works on site, conducting regular visits and working closely with the contractors to help ensure the garden is built to the agreed design, timescales, budget and of course to a high standard.
6
Planting design and planting
We love designing planting plans, either as part of a full garden design or planting only design, or to rejuvenate your existing beds. Our plans will show exactly how plants will be arranged and a planting schedule will detail the quantity and size. We often plant our own schemes but can also recommend local contractors to quote.
7
Aftercare
Gardens need love and care to establish and reach their full potential. Once we've handed over your new garden or planting, we can help you appoint the right gardener or maintenance team and work with them to ensure the garden thrives, providing them with a month by month maintenance guide and having regular meetings. Should you wish, we can also visit you regularly and provide you with detailed reviews.
